We have a white headboard in our bedroom and it bothers me because the walls are white too. I have been wanting to use a patterned fabric to reupholster it, but I can never make up my mind. I am always confused about coordinating the bedding with the colors in the fabric print. I am no good at mixing prints but, I love the look so I set out to look for some ideas/tips.
Jenny from Little Green Notebook has some great tips on mixing prints in this post. Here are some pointers that I took from the images below:

Option 1 : Neutral bedding with a throw pillow in the same fabric as the headboard.

Option 2: Neutral bedding with red throw pillows that pull from the red flowers in the headboard print. |

Option 3: Neutral bedspread with a patterned throw pillow in the same colors as the headboard and a solid quilt that pulls colors from the accents in the room.

Option 5: Love the mix of patterns in the above image. White bedspread with yellow & blue patterned pillows, a blue patterned quilt and a green throw are all in the colors from the headboard.

Option 6: Here is another idea, introduce a new color with the throw pillows while the rest of the bedding is neutral. The pop of red in the pillow is tied with the accents in the room.

These ideas will surely help me . Now, its time to finally do some fabric shopping. It is going to be tricky as I have to work with the bedding I already have. Let’s see what I come up with. Will keep ya posted!
